Yugoslav Troops Said to Have Invaded Greece

The Minister of War, M. Stratos, said Yugoslav soldiers invaded Greece yesterday. Greek Government troops killed nine of them and captured three Others. M. Stratos appealed to the Allies and the United Nations to intervene before the Greek troops lost their tempers over the repeated provocations by Albania, Yugoslavia and Bulgaria and started *a general conflagration. Greece would consider accepting an international military force to seal her borders. M. Stratos said that guerrilla troops supported by Yugoslav soldiers, attacked Koutzobey, a height in the Mount Kaimakchalan region, on the order last night. Greek units fell back but recaptured the position and found nine bodies in Yugoslav uniform. Yugoslav Uniforms Among Greek Guerrillas (Rec. 11.10) LONDON, Sept. 10 Reuter’s correspondent at Athens reports: A Greek Army communique has claimed that twenty-three soldiers in Yugoslav uniforms, including three officers have been killed whilst fighting for General Markos’s guerrillas. The U.N.O. Balkans Commission has interrogated three prisoners who are reported to belong to the Yugo> Slav frontier guard.
