(Rec. 10.5). BATAVIA, Sept. 10. The Dutch Territorial Military Commander in East Java, MajorGeneral S. Baay, has sent a Note to the Republican commanders on the other side of the status quo line, demanding., the ending of hostilities within the Netherlands occupied areas of this region. A Netherlands military spokesman in Batavia, confirming this, said that the Note was not an ultimatum. General Baay said that he would ask his superioi’ officers for their endorsement for “necessary actions” if the demands were not fulfilled.
