MEN FOR TRIAL ON EGG FORGERY CHARGES

P.A. TIMARU, September 10. Thomas Ewart Gill, proprietor of the Timaru Central Egg Floor, and Reginald Tong, accountant, of Christchurch, were both committed to the Supreme Court for trial by Mr E. A. Lee, S.M., on a charge between December, 1946, and June, 1948, of conspiring with each other, by deceit, to defraud the Government out of £lB6l 3s 4d, by allegedly obtaining a Government subsidy on fictitious eggs.
