BRITAIN AND SOVIET MAY MAKE TRADE PACT FOR FOUR YEARS
[N.Z.P.A.—Reuter Cabell. LONDON, September 3. M. George Zarubin, Soviet Ambassador hergj has opened negotiations with Mr. Arthur Bottomley, Britain’s Overseas Trade Minister. Well-in-formed quarters believe the negotiations may be a prelude to a four-year Anglo-Soviet trade pact. It is reported that Russia hopes to get precision tools and railway lines to rebuild her devastated areas, while Britain has indicated that she wants grain, timber and flax. Messrs Bottomley and Harold Wilson (President of the Board of Trade), may sign a pact in Moscow after preliminary talks in London.
