Women’s Hockey' Tournament AUSTRALIANS OUTSTANDING P.A. ' DUNEDIN, August l 30. To-day three rounds of the Dominion women’s hockey tournament for the “K” Cup and the minor section competition were completed. The conditions were perfect, although the grounds were heavy after rain at tne week-end. The Australians accounted for Wairarapa to-day by 11 clear goals. One of the best games of the day was between Wellington, the present holders of the “K” Cup, and Waikato, Wellington winning by three goals to one. Although Wairarapa played grimly against Australia in the second round, the North Island team had no chance against the visitors’ brilliant forward play-. The Australian inside forwards played aggressively, their ball control and accurate short passing proving too efficient for Wairarapa. The Wairarapa goalkeeper, B. McCormick, made many fine saves, while A. Latham, the right half, was a source of strength. Goals were scored by M. Weaver (6), M. Campbell (3), and L. Ash. Australia drew a bye in the third round.
