EMPIRE NATIONALITY

LONDON, July 22. Lord Salisbury in the House of Lords, referring to the Commons amendments to the British Nationality Bill, said the Opposition believed this to be a deplorable measure which would have a regrettable effect on the British Commonweath. He asked for a Government assurance that the implications and dangers of the Bill should be discussed with the Prime Ministers of the other Empire countries at the meeting in the autumn. Lord Jowitt said all British countries had been given full reports of the discussions in both Houses.
