Rare Eye Graft for Napier Man

NAPIER, May 10. A corneal graft which is a rare operation to restore the sight of an eye, is to be performed at Auckland on a Napier man, Mr Allan Jensen. Intricate measurements of the size of the damaged cornea were taken, and the colour was carefully noted when Mr Jensen recently visited a specialist in Auckland. When an eye becomes available. Mr Jensen will go to Auckland for the operation. Corneal grafts are common in the United States, corneas being willed to the national eye bank maintained for this purpose and operations of this type have also been performed in Melbourne.
