STEEL NATIONALISATION
LONDON, May 9. The Labour Member of Parliament for East Middleborough, JJr Alfred Edwards, who started his working life as-a blast furnace employee and became the managing director of a steel-making concern, said in a speech at Cardiff: “T o put the British steel industry into the hands of the Civil Service is suicide. It is treachery to the country. The Civil Service and efficiency are a contradiction m terms. The Government has no plan for steel.” '
