The Labour Member of Parliament for East Middleborough, JJr Alfred Edwards, who started his working life as-a blast furnace employee and became the managing director of a steel-making concern, said in a speech at Cardiff: “T o put the British steel industry into the hands of the Civil Service is suicide.
