MILLERTON NOTES
(Our own Correspondent) Mr and Mrs R. Smith, of Nelson, are spending a holiday with Mrs S. Plummer. Mr and Mrs J. Orman have left here to reside permanently in Granity. Mr L. Kelly, of Greymouth, was a visitor during the week. At the monthly meeting of the Women’s Institute. Mrs Jackson presided over a good attendance. Reports of the Federation meeting, of Westport, and the half-yearly' meeting at Karamea were given by Mesdames Jackson and D. Watson respectively. “My favourite flower” w z as the roll call, roses being the most popular. Mesdames • Law and Olsen provided an excellent supper. The Bowling Club closed the season last Sunday, the final rinks competition being won by W. Clark (s), F. Fox, P. Taylor and G. White. At Mokihinui last Sunday Millerton men's hockey team beat the home team by 5 to nil, but Mokihinui women’s team beat Millerton by 1 to nil. To-morvw at Millerton the local hockey teams play those of Granity. Millerton soccer teams at Blackball last week-end piayed one drawn game and won a game. Millerton junior rugby team to-day play the home team at Ngakawau.
