DUNEDIN, May 6. Five thousand E.P.S. gasmasks were burnt this morning by a city firm -operating under contract to the Department of Labour and Employment (formerly the National Service Department). The now-perished and outmoded gasmasks were not worth the cost cf salvage, according to. the Department, and, being unhygienic after long storage, they were, considered unfit to be given to children as souvenirs. Another 5000 will be destroyed next week.
