WRESTLING Blomfield v. Scarfe
P.A. WELLINGTON, May 6. A capacity house at the Town Hall to-night saw Lofty ■ Blomfield, the New Zealand heavyweight wrestling champion, become Australasian champion, by beating Eddie Scarfe. champion of Australia. The New Zealander had a big advantage in weight, height and reach, scaling 17st 71b? to' the Australian’s lGst. Scarfe took a fall in the fifth round with a combined step-over toe-hold and a headlock, and Blomfield evened in the seventh session with an octopus clamp. The Australian was unable to continue, and the referee declared Blomfield the winner.
