LOCAL AND GENERAL
According to a statement made yesterday by Mr S. J. Trotter, Engineer to the Grey Power Board, there had been little response bv individual consumers to his previous call for voluntary saving of electric power in the Grey area. The engineer said that no immediate curtailment of powersupply was contemplated, but he felt that it was now up to the public to respond to the appeals for the voluntary saving of power by using less lighting and heating appliances’. The policyof the Government may in future be explained to the people by means of a White Paper from time to time.' This was the recommendation of the committee of the Labour Party which dealt with remits on the press which came before the conference of the LtVour Party yesterday morning. The recommendation was adopted. The recommendation is in line with the policy adopted in England. Have you seen Jbff’s new bar ? Empire Hotel, Ross. —Advt.
