CAUSE OF BRITISH TRAIN CRASH

LONDON, April 22.

The pulling of the communication cord did nc<t cause th e railway collision on April 17 between an express and a mail train from Glasgow to London, Lieutenant-Colonel G. R. S. Wilson, inspecting officer of the British Railway staff, said at a Ministry of Transport inquiry. He added shat the block signalling system and rules should fully protect such a stoppage of a train. The regulations in this case were not properly carried out.
