Bulgarian Farmers’ Party Leader Jailed for Life

SOFIA, April 16.

M. Dimitri Gichev, the former leader of the Bulgarian Agrarian Party, was to-day sentenced to life imprisonment by a Sofiia court. Gichev admitted economic sabotage, but he denied organising a coup against the regime. Gichev, in 194 a joined M. Petkov, Feasant Party leader, who was executed on September 23, 1947, in opposing the Communist Fatherland Front Government.
