WAIUTA NOTES

Mr and Airs R. Campbell have left on a holiday visit to Christchurch. Airs D. Jobbing has entered the Reefton Hospital for treatment. Misses Byers, of Christchurch, are visiting their uncle. Mr A. McTaggart. Mrs Hamnton is the guest of Airs J. Herring, of Greymouth. Dr Shepnard, and Nurse Tullock paid a visit to the local school. Mr and Airs L. Harvey, and Mrs D. Sadler were recent guests of Mrs T. Dunn, of Greymouth. Mrs D. Thompson, of Rapahoe; Mr and Mrs M. Smith, Blackball: and Mr J. Fitzgerald, of Broken Hill, Australia. were recent visitors to the township. The last named visited friends after an absence of 23 vears. Mr Pat O’Donnell, of Wellington, paid a brief visit recently to the township. Mr and Mrs Thompson, of Wellington, are the guests of Mr and Airs J. Robb. Airs F. Neilson has left on a visit, to Wellington. The first game of football in the Stallard Cup competition, was played last Sunday at Waiuta, between Waiuta and Waratahs, and resulted in a win for the local team by 18 to nil.
The Co-operative Women’s Guild held a successful euchre tourney last Saturday evening at the club rooms. The winners were: Ladies, Mrs Ord; gentlemen, Air J. McMahon.
