MAN DROWNED IN TRYING TO BOARD LINER

AUCKLAND, April 16 An unknown man is believed to have been drowned when he fell into the harbour while trying to board the. liner, Rangitata by means of a plank, at the central wharf, shortly after 8 o’clock to-night. He was thought to be aged between 30 and 40. A. fruitless search was made for his body by the police and members of the crew of the ship.
