YACHTING GREYMOUTH YACHT CLUB’S CENTENNIAL CUP RACE
The Greymouth Yatch Club sailed the final or its Centennial Cup series yesterday. The tide was full and there was a light north-west breeze. Results were as follows:—Salome, 30 secs (G. Messenger) 1; Sinbad, 45 secs (W. Hoskins) 2; idle Hour, 30 sec, (D. Smith) 3.
The final race of the series was sailed later in the day and was won by Lanoma, 30 sec (W. Longstaff) 1; Idle Hour, 30 sec, 2; and Tempest 4 min (R. Johnson) 3. The cup was won by Salome, this being the second year in succession in which she has secured the trophy. Her tally was 199.9 points. Marilyn with 168.57 points was runner-up and the third vessel was Lanoma with 150 points.
