WATAROA NOTES
[Our Own Correspondent]. WATAROA, June 24. Mr Wilkinson, Oxford Terrace, is visiting friends at Wataroa. The Fox Glacier rugby football team visited Harihari and played a return match on Sunday, the result being a draw —6 all. Fox Glacier basketball team also played at Harihari and won the match. Miss McMillan, of the Fox team, sprained her ankle and received medical attention. The principals of the Pig and Calf Fool Marketing Association are holding their annual meeting at Harihari on Friday next. Mr L. Lowther is supplying A. R. Wallis’ sawmill with logs from the farms of settlers. This is materially assisting the sawmilling industry. After a week of wintry, snowy weather, typical of real winter, warm rain set in on Tuesday night, bringing about flood conditions in the Wataroa River. The snow has since practically disappeared.
