The Americans should not make the mistake thinking British industry was out of step with the Labour Government, declared Sir Frederick Bain, President of the Federation of British Industries, in a speech. The Federation was free to criticise the Government and had exercised that privilege often, but it co-operated fully on all policies that had been set.
