Mr and Mrs lan Buchanan, who have been spending their honeymoon in Westland, left for their home in Invercargill, by yesterday’s express.
Mr D. McGill, the well-known singer and commercial traveller, has been appointed Branch Manager at Timaru for Cadbury, Fry, Hudson, Ltd.
Mr and Mrs S'. J. Green. Tatare, South Westland, who have on an extended tour of the North Island, are at present visiting Ikama-tua and will return south on Monday.
The death occurred recently in Dunedin, of W. P. Morgan, solicitor, he was the eldest son of Mr and Mrs W. Morgan, of Greenstone. Mr R. P. Morgan, Takapuna, Auckland, is a brother, Mr E. L. Morgan, Mitchells’ Hotel, Lake Brunner, is another brother, and Mrs W. Pickering, Kotuku, a sister.
The death has occurred at Hokitika of Mrs Elizabeth Helen Schroder at the age of 72 years. Born at Blue Spur, the late Mrs Schroder had suffered only a short illness. She had resided all her life in the district, her husband predeceasing her seven years ago. She is survived by five daughters, Mesdames H. Lyes and S. Growcott (Harihari), Stoop (Kokatahi), and j. M. McCorkindale (Hastings); and four sons, Charles, (Turiwhate), Ernest (Three Mile) Stanley (Koiterangi) and David (Hokitika); also one brother, Mr T. C. Rowe (Auckland).

Prince Hamid Reza Pahlevi, the Shah of Persia’s 15-year-old brother, according ,to a Paris cable, has been “wagging it” from school. His disappearance from a New York hotel suite on the night of June 23 caused police inve'.vigations. He has now Landed at Orly airport, near Paris, from a French trans-Atlantic plane. Die prince was surprised to find Persia’s Consul, Mahmoud Salehi, waiting for him. The Consul whisked him off to the Persian Legation before the boy had time to protest. “It is the third time he has run away from school. His Royal Highness just doec not like to go to school”, said the Consul, adding that the prince has already “wagged it” from schools in Lebanon and Switzerland.
