Mystery Solved By Wife of the Yachtsman
(Rec. 7.40). SYDNEY, June 19. The mystery surrounding the arrival of the Marconi-rigged cutter, Utiekah 11, at Coffs Harbour, last night, and the subsequent collapse of her sole occupant, was cleared up today. The .man, whose memory is still blank, and who has no recollection of where he came from, or of what happened on his voyage, is Gordon Taylor, aged 30 years', of Newtown, Sydney. His wife, who is now hurrying to Coffs Harbour, said that Taylor le’ft Broken Bay, about 40 miles north of Sydney, on the first stage of a holiday trip to the Barrier Reef, Queensland, in a yacht which he had purchased for that purpose. She was to join her husband at Brisbane.
Mrs Taylor advised the police that her husband, though he is an experienced yachtsman, suffers from heart trouble, and the effects of service in the R.A.A.F.
The yacht spent four days at sea, in heavy weather, before reaching Coffs Harbour.
