BOXING NELSON CREEK BOXERS WIN

At a boxing tournament held at Nelson last night, Maurice Tuck (lOst 31b) of Nelson Creek, defeated H. May (10.6) by a knock-out in the third round. V. Tuck (8.4), Nelfton Creek, defeated T. Jones, of Nelson, easily on points. Mr D. Finlay accompanied the boxers as trainer. HOFFMAN•BEATS NORMAN ROSS. NELSON, June 19. A light-heavyweight boxing contest between Darcy Hoffman (12.4) and Norman Ross (12.6) ended in the fourth round, the referee declaring Hoffman the winner, after Ross had been knocked down four times. The lighting was willing, but Hoffman had the edge on Ross all the way.
