Fire on Oil Tanker Put Out

(Rec. 9.5) LONDON. Mav 24. A Untied States tanked, the “New Hall Hills” radioed this morning that she was blazing fiercely at the northern end of the Goodwin Sands. A Ramsgate lifeboat put out in a dense fog and located the vessel, and stood by till tugs arrived. They towed her into The Dqwns. The fire is reported now to be out, after having gutted Numbers One and Two tanks. One member of the crew was killed.
