Better Facilities Asked by Watersiders For Phosphate Jobs

P.A. AUCKLAND, May 22. Because, they claimed, seats should be provided in the cage used as a change room in the King’s Wharf shed, three gangs of waterside workers, who were discharging phosphate from the British steamer Homer City, ceased work this morning. Some of the mon did not begin work at the 8 a.m. start, and the others ioined them about an hour later. Forms were found by a Union representative, and work was resumed shortly after 10 o'clock. Other complaints.' made by the mon included a request that the cage should be made dust-proof. The cage, which is normally used for storing general cargo, is used by the workers when phosphate cargoes are beinglanded at the wharf.
