Applications are invited from ratings discharged prior to 1-4-1947 of the undermentioned branches for re-entry as follows:— TWO, FOUR AND SIX YEAR RATES OF PAY. After 2 years 15/3 per diem After 4 years 15/6 per diem After 6 years 15/9 per diem TWO OR FOUR YEAR ENGAGEMENTS. Leading Signalmen, Leading Telegraph- 16/9 per diemists, Leading Stokers, Leading Writers, After 2 year’s P ei diem Leading Stores Assistants, Leading After 4 years 17/3 per diem Cooks, Leading Radio Mechanics (W/T) After 6 years 17/6 per diem and (R.) Leading Seamen —who held higher non-substantive rates in the following:— H.S.D. — SD — Control —■ Quarters — R.C. — R.P. — A.A. Petty Officers—who held non-substan- P er diem tive rates as above After 2 * ears per diem After 4 years 19/- per diem After 6 years 19/3 per diem Artificers and Artisans. The rates of pay range from 16/9 per diem to 20/3 per diem for a Chief Petty 7 Officer, with Artisans under new regulations now an addition of 1/- per diem hold the status of Chief Petty Officer Trade Pay. Engine Room Artiif Ist., 2nd., or 3rd. Class, and Petty fleers may also qualify for an Officer if 4th. or Acting 4th. Class. additional allowance of 1/- or 2/- per diem. MARRIED PERSONNEL WILL BE ELIGIBLE UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS FOR A MARRIAGE ALLOWANCE OF THREE SHILLINGS PER DIEM PLUS A SEPARATION ALLOWANCE OF THREE ’ SHILLINGS PER DIEM. The rate of pay for Able Seamen or equivalent under 21 years of age ,’s 14/- per diem. All ratings will be paid a Uniform Allowance to assist in the maintenance of uniform. Long service personnel will be entitled to superannuation benefits on discharge. Personnel on Short Service engagements will be eligible under certain conditions for gratuities on discharge amounting to £25 for each year’s service. Former Naval Service will count towards Good Conduct Badges, Good Conduct Medal, Progressive Pay and advancement.
