BOXING Cruickshank K.O.’s McKenna in Second Round

WELLINGTDkt May 19.

Apparently smarting under the criticism of his ability by the English boxer, Johnny Newman, lan Cruickshank (Dunedin) set. out to prove that he was a worthy titleholder when he met Johnny McKenna (Hutt Valley) for the welterweight championship in the Wellington Town Hall to-night. The content did not last two of the scheduled 10 three-minute rounds, Cruickshank knocking out his opponent with a beautiful right cross to the side of the face towards the end of the second round.
