FERRY MYSTERY
Noted Horse Trainer MISSING IN AUCKLAND AUCKLAND, May 20. Still unsolved this morning is the mystery of the discovery of a coupe car, with no driver on the transharbour vehicular ferry when it arrived at the city terminal from Devonport last night. The police state that lhe car is the Property of a racehorse trainer, R. S. Bagby, aged 44, of Morrin street, Ellerslie, who did not return home after leaving at. 8.30 o’clock last night. Only a few ears were on the ferry, which left Devonport at 9 p.m. The ferry mate, Leonard Chaplin, said the tickets were checked five minutes after leaving Devonport. It was parked alone in the middle of the ferry. The key was still in the ignition switch.
Nobody was seen to leave on foot when the vessel berthed at the city. Among the articles found in the car was a ferry ticket and an opened packet of cigarettes. Mrs Bagby said that when her husband left home he did not say where he was going.
