CIGARETTE END CAUSES FILM DISASTER

(Rec.. 9.30 ROME, May 16. Police have arrested a stock-room employee of the Minerva Film Corporation who, they say, confessed under questioning that he was responsible for starting the fire in which killed and injured manv people here. He is quoted by the police as saying that a lighted cigarette end which he dropped ignited a pile of scrap film, which, in turn, set fire to petrol stored nearby.
