SHAW SAVILL COY’S. NEW SHIPS FOR N.Z. TRADE

(Rec. 6.30). LONDON, March 22. _ The Shaw Savill Shipping Coy. is continuing the replacement of war losses, and has ordered two more cargo ships, both twin-screw, similar in general design to the 1928 Coptic class built for the' New Zealand and Australian refrigerated cargo trade, but with a number of improvements. Latest devices, including radar, will be standard equipment.

The company’s first new post-war vessel, the 15,000-ton Corinthic, is due to sail from Liverpool on April 12 with 80 passengers on her maiden voyage to New Zealand. She will begin her three-day trials on T. uesday. She will call at, Las Palmas, Capetown, Fremantle, Adelaide, Melbourne, and Sydney before going on to New Zealand. It is stated that it has still not been decided whether ahe will make her first port of call Auckland or Wellington.
