U.S. MINERS’ LEADER BOWS TO DECISION OF SUPREME COURT

WASHINGTON, March 19.

Uninterrupted productoin of soft coal, at least until June 30, when the Federal Government operation of the mines ends, has appeared to be assured by John L. Lewis making an unconditional withdrawal of his contract termination notice. Mr Lewis’s withdrawal action has saved the United Mine Workers’ Association two million eight hundred thousand dollars, because the Supreme Court yeduced the Lower Court’s assessment against the union from three million five hundred thusand dlloars to seven hundred thousand dollars to seven hundred that the union “purged itself” within a reasonable time. The Lcwer Court’s ten thousand dollar tine on Lewis has remained.
