(Rec. 9.50.) NANKING, March 29. Crack Nationalist troops, after capturing Yenan, are advancing on Ching Chien, forty-five miles to the north-east.

Another column is pursuing the retreating Communists sixteen miles north-west of Yenan. Only rearguard resistance is being encountered.

The Nationalist Chief-of-Staff, General Chen Cheng, has announced that 120 thousand Communist soldiers have transferred to the Nationalists.
