Mr J. W. Jackson, General Manager for New Zealand of the Commercial Bank of Australia, who has been visiting Greymouth left for Westport yesterday.
The funeral of the late Mr Henry Speakman, of Runanga, took place at the Karoro Cemetery yesterday afternoon. The services were conducted by the Rev. J. Silvester.
Mils C. E. Robinson, senior woman Vocational Guidance Officer, and Mr G. C. Erooks, District Vocational Guidance Officer, of the Vocational Guidance Centre, Canterbury, are at present visiting Greymouth. They will visit post-primary schools in the district and leave for Hokitika tomorrow. They will return to Christchurch on Friday evening.
The following West Coasters are returning to New Zealand aboard the “R'angitata,” which is expected on Saturday:—F./L. Eric Clifton Harris, C./o. Mrs N. A. The chief editor of the New Zealand War History; Major-General H. K. Kippenberger, D. 5.0., and Bar, left Auckland by air yesterday to meet the Australian official historians at Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne, Among other duties, he will obtain records of the engagements in which the New Zealand Division was associated with the Australian forces. He will return in about ten days.

The death occurred at Greymouth yesterday, after a brief illness, of Mr Daniel Dennehy. A native of Charleston, the late Mr Dennehy was sixty-six years of age, and he had resided for the greater part of his life on the West Coast. He worked in the flax-milling industry with his brothers at Barrytown for many years. In his youth he was a prominent footballer and represented the South Island in 1906. He is survived by two brothers, Francis and John (Barrytown), and by four sisters, Mrs M. Kotlcwski and Misses Margaret and Mary Dennehy (Wellington) and Mrs A. Byrne (T'akaka). The funeral will take place at Wellington on Friday.
