R.S.A. Alleges Delay In House Building Programme

DUNEDIN, March 11. The four district Returned Services' Associations in Otago and Southland will recommend to the annual conference of the New Zealand body that the Government institute immediately a public commission of inquiry into delays in the completion of the building of houses, and that the commission shall not include any members of Parliament or public bodies. In the event of the request being declined, it will be recommended that the association undertake an independent inquiry. At a conference, which made the decision yesterday, it was stated: “We have had conferences with Government building representatives, but the only reply we get is that the matter is fraught with difficulty and everything possible is being done.”
