BETTER PAY NEEDED IN ENGLAND.
(Rec. 7.10.) LONDON, Nov.. 16. The Archbishop of Canterbury at the Church Assembly yesterday supported a resolution urging further immediate financial help for incumbents. He added: “The clergy are among the lowest paid of all country workers. People are deluded by the fact that the clergyman lives in a big house, which nobody else in his senses would live in without ten times his income.”
