MARIST B’S VICTORY Following their’ eight-point win on Sunday, November 10, Marist B again went to the fore yesterday, when they defeated»Marist A by 113 runs. The victory was a complete walk-over for’ the B team, six of whose batsmen reached double figures, but in the latter . part of the afternoon heavy Showers added to the difficulty which Marist A bowlers experienced in sending their opponents to the pavilion. MarshalFs Century FOR UNITED A Knocking up fifteen fours and three sixes, left-hander Max Marshall yesterday scored over half the points for United A in their match against Marist C at the Recreation Ground's. His total when the team declared at four down for 196 was 310 not out, and he had just settled down to a steady partnership with N. Thorburn, who had added 24 to the scoreboard. Marshall succeeded in smashing all Marist C’s bowlers and played . r < steady bat throughout the afternoon. Another good scorer was G. McLean, who clocked up 38 before he fell to A. Abelson.

Only two batsmen hit double figured for Marist C, these being C. Rodden and L. Derby, with 26 and 16 respectively, the latter not out at the finish of the first innings, in which the C team made 75. They went in again, and were one down for 43 when clumps were drawn, United not having been able ic get them out in time for an eight point win. There was no outstanding bowling by either team.
