ITINERARY FOR “AIRES” WELLINGTON, Aug. 27. The R.A.F. Lancaster “Aries” will remain at Ohakea until next Ihursday, when it will be flown to Whenuap’ai, en route passing over about a dozen towns. The “Aries” will leave Whenuapal on September 2 for Wigram, flying over as many centres as possible, including Blenheim and Kaikoura. On the following day it will fly over Dunedin and Invercargill and other centres. The “Aries” on September 4 is exnected’ to leave for Fiji where lectures and demonstrations are to be given and on September 6 will be flown to Sydney SERVICEMEN’S LAND TENURES WELLINGTON, Aug. 27. Figures relating to tenures chosen by former servicemen who have been successful in ballots for Crown land were released by the Minister of Lands (Mr Skinner), to-day. Theyare: Selected on renewable lease, 170; selected under- agreement for sale and purchase, 264. The Minister said that to date 594 selections had been offered for ballot by the Lands and Survey Department, but in 178 cases the successful applicants had not yet been required to choose the tenure they preferred. They were employed on wages in the meantime, carrying out improvements necessary to the successful individual occupation of their ■ sections, and as soon as these were completed the value of the sections would be determined and they would be asked what tenure they preferred.
