N.Z. ASSOCIATION DECISIONS p,A. TAURANGA, AUk-27. At a meetinc; of the New Zealand Basketball Referees Association in Tauranga, it was decided that a local examination be recognised' by all centres so that in the event of a referee transferring to another Association, she would be eligible for the New Zealand theoretical examination. The election of officers resulted as follows: — President, Miss S-. E. Foster (Dunedin); Vice-Presidents, Miss E. Armstrong (Wellington), Mrs Mclnnes (Wellington), Miss D. Crumpton (Southland), and Mrs Cairney (Canterbury) ; Secretary-Treasurer, Mrs Mayhea (Dunedin); Hon. Auditor, Miss M. Taverner (Dunedin); Delegates to New Zealand Council, Mrs Mclnnes and Miss Foster; Theoretical Examiner, Miss Foster; Practical Examiners, North Island, Mrs H. D. Muir (Wellington), Mrs D. Knuckey (Eltham), and Miss A. Naylor (Tauranga); South Island, Miss Foster, Mrs Cairney, and Mr Malcolmson (Geraldine). AUSTRALIAN TOUR LIKELY The New Zealand Council of the Basketball Association at its annual meeting to-day, decided that the 1947 tournament be held at Nelson. The meeting also agreed to extend an invitation to the Australian Basketball Association to send an Australian representative team to New Zealand next year. Arrangements for the tour to be left in the hands of the New Zealand Executive and in the meantime, Excutive ascertain from the Associations to what extent they are prepared to help financially.
