GIRL MISSING
Lost at Christchurch Fair
P.A. CHRISTCHURCH, August 12. No trace has yet been found of Patricia Rose Scott, a 13-year-old girl, who disappeared in a big crowd at the Industries Fair on Saturday afternoon. The girl accompanied her mother and a young brother to the fair early in the afternoon, but she became separated from her family about four o’clock. She was last seen shortly afterwards in company with a girl of about the same age.
Descriptions of the girl have been broadcast by the police yesterday and to-day, and all local police stations were advised. When Mrs Scott noticed her daughter’s disappearance, she notified the Fair authorities, and she lately left to catch a train back to their home in Rangiora. A search for the girl on the railway platform was resultless. The girl was wearing the Rangiora High School Uniform of a navy blue serge costume, and brown shoes and stockings when she visited the fair. She is described by the police as having flaxen hair and blue eyes, and as well built for her age.
