Opening To-night
“OUR MISS GIBBS”
Following on a most successful final dress rehearsal yesterday afternoon, the Greymouth Operatic Society will to-night at t’.e Regent Theatre, Greymouth, launch its second presentation, the delightful old favourite musical comedy romance, “Our Miss Gibbs”, which will run for a season of six nights, v.ith matinees on Wednesday and Saturday. The team of talented local amateur performers, supplemented by a wellbalanced chorus of 30 members; have come through a solid preparation un-
der the able guidance of the producer, Mr Len McGlashan, himself a former well-known amateur performer some years ago, and musical director, Mr William Ford. There is a bright mixture of comedy, romance and lilting melodies of the old world stage, and the production, is sure to have an all-round appeal to theatregoers. There is beautiful frocking of the bridesmaids, principals and members of the chorus, while .the scenery, music and dancing numbers by the ballet should make instant appeal.
