MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETS. Mr F. W. (Baillie presided at last evening’s meeiing of -the Management Committee of the West Coast Rugby Union, and Messrs M. R. Bunt, O. Scott, B.'Tindale.iA. Agnew, W. Blair, G. Nelson, S.’ McDonnell, S.- Hendry, A. R. Lindbom, D. G. McKay, J, Webster, E. G. Panckhurst, A. M. Jamieson and O. McLean (secretary) were also present. The Westland Sub-Union advised that all fixtures in Hokitika had been postnoned next Saturday on the occasion of the West Coast v. Buller match at Greymouth. The Sub-Union nominated Mr R. Quinn as junior selector. Mr F. Eggleton was appointed third grade selector for the season. An application for the reclassification of Ellis and I. Marley from senior to junior was granted. One application for re-admission to the code was received, and it was decided to send it on to the New Zealand Union with a favourable recommendation. Mr Hendry reported on.the visit of the Coast team to Westport last Saturday, and congratulated the Buller team on its splendid forward play. He expressed appreciation for the hospitality extended, and it was decided to send a message af appreciation to both the Buller Union and Mr Ke-.r Clark (local manager). Mr Hendry advised that the Buller Union would send its junior representative' team? to Greymouth on any date after July 6. Mr R. Longstaff was appointed local manager for the Buller team next Saturday, and Mr W. Blair was appointed manager of the Coast team. Mr Agnew was appointed local manager for the Inangahua team next Saturday, and Mr A. R. Lindbom was appointed manager of Greymouth Colts’ team.
The Basketball Association extended an invitation to the Buller and Inangahua teams to attend a dance in the United Pavilion next Saturday evening. Admission fees for next Saturday were fixed as follows: Men 2s, ladies Is, children in school uniform, free. Mr R. O’Callaghan was appointed captain of the West Coast team and Mr R. Birchfield was appointed vicecaptain. The West Coast team will assemble at the Park Hotel at .2 p.m. Mr W. Bignell was appointed captain of the Greymouth Colts’ team which will assemble at the Australasian Hotel at 12.30 p.m. The Schools Sports Association will endeavour to arranged a suitable 7-a-side match for half-time in the Buller-Coast match. The junior selectors were instructed to select the Grey junior team next. Saturday. Mr Baillie made reference to the recent press reports regarding football in the Technical school, and referred to the regrettable and entirely unwarranted attack on the Principal. —lt was decided to send a letter to Mr Stewart, supporting him in his attitude. The 25 players chosen for training for the Seddon Shield were requested to meet at the Cobden gymnasium next Sunday morning at 10.30, and at Hokitika on the following Sunday. FIXTURES.
