DISORDERS IN IN PERSIA
Revolt of Kurds UNEMPLOYED DEMONSTRATE IN CAPITAL, TEHERAN June 24. Police fired 35 shots during a demonstration by 2000 unemployed demanding jobs outside municipal headquarters in the main square. The crowd smashed the windows of the municipal building and the post office. Police reinforcements finally broke up the gathering. A high Government official stated that it was regarded as the first reaction to the communique from the Prime Minister, Ghavam Sultaneh, warning workers’ organisations against interfering with the Government’s power and threatening heavy punishment for so doing. Kurdish outlaw forces are besieging five garrison towns in Kurdistan. The Persian Government has ample forces to liberate the towns, but the Army has orders to keep its positions pending talks between the Government and Mohammed Ghazi, the Kurdish Deomcrat leader, who has left for Teheran. Meanwhile, General Rasmara, the Persian Army cqmmander, has reported to the Cabinet that the situation is grave.
