CessatfOHi of Industries THREATENED TO-NIGHT (Rec. 10.55) BRISBANE, June 25. The Premier of Queensland, Mr Hanlon, announced to-day that sweeping cuts in electricity and gas consumption are to start at mid-night on Wednesday if the Queensland coal strike is not settled. As part of these cuts there would be a complete cessation of industries other than those engaged in the processing and preserving of foodstuffs. He announced that household cooking hours would be limited to thirty minutes in the morning Sind one hour in the evening. The tram services would be cut by >0 per cent, and railway services drastically curtailed.
