NELSON LAND BOARD

A sitting of the Nelson Land Board was held recently, there being present Messrs E. P. Wakelin, Commissioner of Crown Lands (chairman) J. O’Regan, J. Creighton, G. L. Mead and J. Ward. Applications were dealt with as follows: —

. Applications for Land. G. W. Thompson, for section 845, Westport Colliery Reserve, 1 rood. — Approved. E. H. Walsh was granted a pastoral regulation license over section 33, block 11, Waitakere S.D., at a rental of £3 10s per annum, subject to conditions. H. Monahan was granted a year to year license over section 9, block IV, Maruia S.D. at a rental of £2 per annum as from May 8, 1946. W. J. Peterson, for parts of sections 92 and’ 95, Takaka S.D. and part section 22, Block 11, Waitapu S.D., 143 acres 2 roods 17 perches. — Left in the hands of the Commissioner. T ransfers. Rose Twohill to Kevin Francis Brown, section 209, Westport Colliery Reserve, 29.81 perches.—Approved subject to reduction in consideration. Westport Jockey Club to Westport Jockey Club and Westport Trotting Club, sections 12 and 13, block 111, Kawatiri S.D., 51 acres 28 perches, and sections 31, 39, 40 and 49, block 111 Kawatiri S.D., 21 acres 1 rood '< perches.—Approved'. Francis. Scott to Harold and Elizabeth Bennett sections 131 ana 132 block VIII, Kawatiri S.D., 9 acres 3 roods 38 perches and 45 acres 3 roods 7 perches respectively.—Left in the hands of the Commissioner.

F. J. and D. M. A. Cooper to Frances Mary Quinn lot 1, of section 1085, Westport Colliery Reserve 16.9 perches.—Adjourned for further information.

Westport Trotting Club to William Arthur Craddock sections 16 and' 17, square 141, block 111, Kawatiri, S.D., 10 acres. —Left in the hands of the Commissioner Other Business.

It was resolved to cancel an ordinary license over 2 acres of Crown land in block HI, Kawatiri S.D. for Mary McGillicuddy, and to grant a similar license to I. S. Marshall of Westport, at a rental of 15s a year.

Grace Jenkins, for cancellation of a license over 25 acres of Crown land in block V, Otumahana S.D. and part sections 5, 10 and 11, block VI and’ part section 12, block V, Otumahana &.D., 770 acres, and R. C. M. Jenkins for a license over the same areas.-—Left in the hands oi the Commissioner. William John Preen for cancellation of a license over 50 acres ot Crown land in block XI, Reefton S.D. —Cancelled from May 8, 1946.
