Here’s the answer to that eternal question: “What will I give them for dinner to-day.” Well, why not try this recipe using Maddrens Self-Raising Flour which is identical with that now used by 95 per cent, of housewives overseas, where Fl iur is precious and the housewife cannot afford to risk a failure. Maddrens Self-Raising Flour consists of sifted Wheaten Flour, a cereal Flour Improver and the correct quantity of a special Aerator (rising) all evenly balanced and thoroughly blended together. Fish Pie with Potato Crust. CRUST: 3 ozs. Maddrens Self-Raising Flour. It ozs. Maddrens Shredded Beef Suet. 6 ozs. mashed potatoes. 1 teaspoon salt, ii lb. salted fish. J lb. Sliced cooked carrot or swede. 1 pint parsley sauce. J lb. sliced cooked potato. 1 teaspoon vinegar. 1 dessertspoon lemon juice. Place fish in a pan with just sufficient water to cover it, add vinegar and bring to boil slowly. Simmer 10 minutes and drain well. Place a layer of fish in the bottom of a greased dish, season with lemon juice, cover with a layer of sauce and then a layer of vegetables. Contniue until all ingredients are used. Make a crust by mixing flour, guet, mashed potato and add water to make a stiff dough. Roll out and place over dish. Bake in a moderate oven 30 minutes.
