He emphasised the dost sibility of atomic driven battleships in the near future, and pointed out., such a vessel would have an unheardof speed and cruising radius, dictated only by the amount of provisions that could be carried. The Navy also hoped to develop atomic bomb carrying planes, with speed of well over a thousand miles an hour.
