German External Assets

BEING COLLARED AS REPARATIONS.

(Rec. 10.5) LONDON, March 4. Switzerland has agreed to send a representative to Washington to confer with Britain, America and France regarding the disposition of Germanheld assets in Switzerland totalling aout seven hundred and' fifty million dollars. The conference will endeavour: (1) To obtain Switzerland’s consent to a decree, by the Allied Control Council, vesting the ownership of all the German assets abroad" in a German External Assets Committee, which has been established by the four Powers on the Council. (2) To work out means of liquidating these assets, which are to be applied to reparations accounts of Britain, America and France, so that Germany wilt not regain any control. A similar conference will be held later with representatives of Sweden, where Germany, it is believed, invested five hundred million dollars.
