RESUMING TRANS-PACI FIC SERVICES. (Rec 11.50) NEW YORK, Jan. 28. The United States Shipping Line has announced that it is resuming, early in March, its monthly cargo service to New Zealand, to Australia, and to the Far East. It is doing so with the freighters Rapid, Defender, Rattler, Red Jacket, Stag Hound, Whistler,- Resolute, Onward and Courser. They are sailing from the American east coast and Gulf ports. LINER QUEEN ELIZABETH (Rec. 11.50) LONDON, Jan. 28. The “Daily Mail” stated: The liner Queen Elizabeth will complete her last war job, the taking of American servicemen home —within two months. She will then have six months for an overhaul and refit, and by the autumn will be ready for luxury passenger traffic. Furnishings and fittings that were removed in Australia, where the liner’s conversion for troop-carrying was completed, have all been shipped back to Britain, will now be replaced.
