The cruiser “Ajax’’ has left Malta for Monte Video to participate in a celebration of the anniversary of the sinking of the “Grap Spee’” off the River Plate. CAIRO ASSASSINATION. (Rec. 9.40). CAIRO, January 6. Amin Osman Pasha, an Egyptian Senator, and formerly the Wafdist Government’s Minister of Finance, has died in hospital, after being twice shot by an assailant in a Cairo street. He was shot in the shoulder and the abdomen. A blood transfusion and an operation proved unavailing. The assailant escaped. The Egyptian Government is offering live thousand pounds reward for information leading to the arrest of the assassin.
