(Our Own Correspondent). Messrs P. O’Connor and L. P. Williams, who have been visiting Wellington, have returned. Messrs D. Costigan, P. Smith, W. Fattorini and L. Costigan have lett for Takaka where they have accepted employment. - Mr and Mrs L. Page and Mr and Mrs J. Collins are visiting Christchurch. . . Mrs N. Hampton is visiting Greymouth. Mr and Mrs East (Cobden), who haye been visiting Mr and Mrs V. Leathwick, have returned. W-A.A.C. Jo" Lines who has been spending leave with her parents, has returned to camp. . Mr Joe Baran who has been visiting Christchurch has returned. Miss Nancy White, Wellington, has been visiting her sister, Miss Betty White. Messrs J. Nailer and C. McTaggart who have been visiting Christchurch have returned. Mr Roy Neilson is spending a holiday in Wellington. . Mrs Syd. Ramsden, who is a patient of the Reefton Hospital, is reported to be making satisfactory progress. Mr E. Cameron who has been visiting Mr and Mrs J. E. Allen, has returned to Wellington. Miss E. Morresey,. Greymouth, is relieving at the local .Post Office while Mrs E. L. Leathwick is on annual leave. , , ~ The Blackwater mine lock-out dispute is entering its fourth week but there are signs of a settlement in the near future. . The junior pupils of the Waiuta St. John Ambulance Brigade held a social last Friday evening to make a presentation to Mr Syd. Ramsden, in recognition of his good services in conducting the brigade’s classes. In presenting Mr Ramsden with a fountain nen' and eversharp pencil, Miss Joan Connors thanked him for the thorough wav in which he had conducted classes. Mrs ducted classes. Mr Ramsden suitable replied. Songs were given by Misses Colleen Vvhite, Kath Costigan and Joan Connors. The luckv spot was -won by Mrs R. Robertson and Mr S'. Ramsden. Music was supplied by Mrs R. Robertson and Mr T. Sullivan was M.C.
