HONG KONG

BRITISH FORCES TO BE DOUBLED (Rec. 5.5). CHUNGKING, Nov. 23. Major-General Resting, Commander of British troops in Hong Kong, told correspondents that the forces at present numbering eleven thousand would probably be increased to 24,000. Hong Kong would be a naval base, supplementing, but not superseding, Singapore. Admiral Fraser would be establishing his headquarters in Hong Kong within a month.
